in 2013, Societatea Raționalistă Română, abbreviated SocRat (a reference to Socrates), seeks to promote rationalism and combat superstition and pseudoscience in Romania.
Even before its foundation, the podcast Sceptici in Romania (“Skeptics in Romania”) already existed as the very first podcast in the country.
In recent times, SocRat has focused a lot on science education about vaccination, as immunisation rates in the country have dropped to a dangerous low, with deadly diseases returning and claiming victims.
